Role Overview:

The Social Media Specialist will be responsible for managing all social media platforms for Vineyard Columbus. This role involves creating engaging content, analyzing the effectiveness of posts, and developing strategies to adapt to the ever-changing digital landscape. The ideal candidate will have a passion for ministry, strong creative skills, and a deep understanding of social media trends and best practices.

What you’ll do:

Social Media Strategy & Content Creation:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies to promote church events, programs, and initiatives
  • Monitor and analyze social media trends and adjust strategies accordingly to stay current with changes in the digital landscape
  • Create, curate, and manage high-quality content for the church’s social media channels, including text, images, videos, and graphics
  • Ensure all content aligns with the church’s branding and messaging guidelines
  • Work closely with the Communications team and other church staff to gather content ideas and materials
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for social media campaigns

Community Engagement:

  • Engage with followers, respond to comments and messages, and foster a sense of community on social media platforms
  • Build and maintain relationships with key online influencers and community members
  • Oversee and champion engagement from pastors and staff to ensure quick, thoughtful responses to questions and prayer requests from people online

Analytics and Reporting:

  • Track and analyze social media performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, and other analytics platforms
  • Prepare regular reports to evaluate the effectiveness of social media strategies and campaigns
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize content and improve engagement
  • Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, tools, and technologies

What you bring:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in social media management or a similar role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) and social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer)
  • Experience with social media advertising and analytics tools
  •  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with graphic design and multimedia content creation tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
