As they continue to expand, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Controller to join the team. This newly created role is crucial to their financial management and reporting, and it offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization.

Position Overview: The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of accounting, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and managing a small team of accounting professionals. This hands-on role requires strong GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) experience and a proactive approach to improving financial processes and systems. Experience with Sage Intacct is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial statements in compliance with GAAP.
• Manage and develop a small team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Coordinate and manage the company’s first annual audit process, working closely with external auditors.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing financial analysis and insights.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax regulations and filings.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting and financial reporting.
• Utilize Sage Intacct for financial management and reporting, if applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification a plus.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and experience in financial reporting and analysis.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software; Sage Intacct experience is a plus.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
