Viracon LLC Function: Loads and Unloads finished good boxes to and from the plant production areas in accordance with established production schedules and quality standards. Loads material for out-bound shipments adhering to customer loading instructions and weight distribution to comply with DOT regulations. Essential Job Responsibilities: Interprets paperwork, verbal requests and instructions to properly load trailers for shipping. Pull / Stage boxes for loading by checking Pick List or Build sheet. Check cover sheet for loading instructions to ensure correct trailer is being loaded and to customer specifications. Determine how much of the trailer is going to be used for the load, maximize trailer space without over loading. Determine how to put material on trailer based on the type of trailer being used and the size and weight of the boxes / racks. Ability to lock and unlock trailer in and out of dock. Insure trailer is in good condition to be loaded. Stage boxes according to cover sheet per customers request using appropriate equipment. Crane Forklift 2-wheeler 4-wheeler Check / Inspect all boxes are in good condition and repair if needed. Check / Inspect for any broken glass and report as required. Prep / Load material for international loads and ensure all requirements are met. (Example: Dunage (bug) Stamp. Haul glass / materials from various production lines and store appropriately. Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation. Participates in Viracon’s Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her team’s performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements. Additional Job Responsibilities: Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees. Maintains a neat and orderly working area throughout the work day. Performs duties in a safe manner using all approved safety equipment as instructed. May perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed. Qualifications: Must have a valid driver’s license. High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred. Ability to read, write and understand work instructions (English). Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member. Familiar and comfortable with operating hand and power tools. Ability to follow instructions and take supervision. Ability to read a tape measure down to ¼” Forklift certification required. Tugger certification preferred. Basic keyboarding and computer skills. (SFA and Bridge 32) Ability to safely perform essential job responsibilities; using all approved safety equipment as instructed.
