Position Summary:

Perform routine tasks in a research environment.Assist in performing assigned laboratory tasks without constant supervision.Assist staff in laboratory work. Must be able to organize work, collect andanalyze data, make calculations, prepare reports, keep records, and makeindependent decisions. Ability to complete assigned special projects withminimal supervision.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performing enzymatic assays
• Buffer preparation
• Immunofluorescence staining and microscopy
• Tissue culture
• Documenting results in a laboratory notebook

Required Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelors degree in Biology orBiochemistry
• Must have at least 6 months wet lab experience
• Must have a demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in past experiences or a commitment to do so as a hourly member at VCU

Preferred Qualifications: 

• The successful candidate will have experience ina biochemistry laboratory
• Skills required include: Immunofluorescence staining and microscopy
• A background in biology and has experiencestudying cancer

This is a restricted position with no set end date and continued employment is dependent upon project need, availability of funding, and performance
