VCUSchool of Education's Rehabilitation Research and Training Center seeks a Part-TimeEvening and Weekend Supported Employment Specialist who embraces diversity,equity, and inclusion and will contribute to a climate that supportsstudents, faculty, and staff of all identities and backgrounds. TheSupported Employment Specialist will assist individuals with disabilities inlocating and maintaining competitive, integrated employment. Qualifiedapplicants will engage in business development designed to establish businesspartnerships for the promotion of employment of people with disabilities. TheSupported Employment Specialist will provide direct services and supports toindividuals on job sites, to assist the employee with adisability in achieving independence in their employment. Services and supportsare individualized, and this position be required to work on evenings andweekends to accommodate consumers’ schedules. This position is a field positionand requires an organized self-starter who enjoys making connections in theircommunity. Business Connections serves Richmond and the surrounding areas.Candidates may be required to cover internship-to-employment projects inRichmond, Hanover, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hampton, Petersburg, or Newport News.The Supported Employment Specialist typically works independently or as amember of a team. They work under limited supervision, resolving most standardto moderately complex issues independently and referring highly complex orunique issues to a high level. Required Qualifications:

Ability to work eveningsand weekends.
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diversefaculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staffmember at VCU;
Demonstrated experience working with individuals withdisabilities;
Above average verbal and written communication skills;
Ability tobuild community partnerships;
Proven ability to carry out job duties in aprofessional manner, with a positive outlook and approach;
Ability to work withsensitive information and maintain confidentiality; 
Computer proficiency inWord, Excel, and PowerPoint;
A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications: Experienceworking with individuals with disabilities in areas of community, integrated,competitive employment;
Familiarity with Virginia businesses and communityresources.
