This team member assists the shift Operations Manager in maintaining high quality standards of housekeeping. The EVS Supervisor position is a working role, where the candidate leads cleaning personnel in work activities in their assigned area. This team member will help maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the hospital, keeping leadership fully informed on the immediate condition of all assigned areas as it relates to staffing and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare or hotel housekeeping required
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory/leadership ability preferred

Responsibilities

• Tours each assigned area of the hospital daily as directed to observe cleaning crews at work and to determine that instructions are followed and safety rules are observed.
• Thoroughly cleans assigned areas, including patient rooms, carpets, rugs, floors and ancillary areas, using quality standards established by Environmental Services Leadership.
• Responds to environmental emergency situations through knowledge of fire and disaster procedures.
• Includes staff in establishing unit goals. Shares accountability with staff for meeting goals.
• Holds self and staff accountable to the policies, procedures, and standards of Federal, State, Local and other governing agencies, as well as that of the hospital and department.
• Plans and facilitates trainings or programs to meet the educational needs of staff, including orientation, in-services, or education requirements.
