Key Responsibilities
- Drive Efficiency & Reimbursement: Manage daily operations to ensure smooth patient throughput and maximize reimbursement for services provided.
- Lead Utilization Management: Implement and oversee the hospital's Utilization Management Plan, using data to improve performance and optimize resource utilization.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure medical necessity and revenue cycle processes adhere to CMS regulations and hospital policies, maintaining accurate and compliant documentation.
- Enhance Patient Transitions: Develop and implement strategies to facilitate timely and effective patient transitions, minimizing length of stay and preventing readmissions.
- Mitigate Payer Disputes: Establish proactive processes to prevent and resolve payer disputes, ensuring timely and appropriate reimbursement.
- Physician Education: Develop and deliver educational programs to physicians, providing feedback on hospital utilization and promoting evidence-based practices.
- Network Management: Participate in managing the post-acute provider network, ensuring seamless transitions of care for patients.
- Education:
- BSN or LMSW required.
- MSN preferred, or a willingness to pursue a Master's degree.
- Experience:
- Five to seven years of experience in utilization review, clinical pathways, case management, or disease management.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Certifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LMSW) license in South Carolina.
- Accredited Case Manager (ACM) certification is preferred.
