About The OpportunityThis is an exciting opportunity for a qualified MLT to play a vital role in a fast-paced laboratory environment. You will perform a wide range of diagnostic tests on blood, tissue, and other body fluids, contributing essential data for patient diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities
- Collect, process, and analyze body fluids according to established protocols.
- Operate sophisticated laboratory equipment, such as microscopes, analyzers, and automated systems.
- Perform a variety of laboratory tests in areas like hematology, microbiology, immunology, clinical chemistry, and urinalysis.
- Analyze and interpret test results, identifying abnormalities and potential health concerns.
- Maintain meticulous records and documentation of all procedures and findings.
- Participate in quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results.
- Calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Maintain a safe and sterile work environment following all safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- ASCP registration required.
- Bachelor's degree in a life science field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology).
- WV State Laboratory License or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in computer applications and laboratory information systems (LIS).
