Trusted Staffe is partnering with a leading hospital in Worcester, MA, to find a dynamic and experienced Nurse Manager to oversee their Same Day Surgery (SDS) and Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). This pivotal role demands a strong leader with clinical expertise and operational acumen to ensure seamless patient care, efficient workflow, and a positive staff experience in these critical areas.

Job Summary:

This position provides leadership and support to the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), assisting in the assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice within the SDS and PACU. The Nurse Manager assumes 24/7 responsibility for these units, ensuring high-quality, safe, and appropriate nursing care, competency of clinical staff, and effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Patient Care Excellence: Champion a patient-centered approach, fostering a culture of safety, compassion, and continuous quality improvement.
  • Staff Development: Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of nurses and support staff. Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Clinical Expertise: Stay current with best practices and advancements in same-day surgery and post-anesthesia care. Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Quality and Safety: Monitor and evaluate clinical outcomes, implement quality improvement initiatives, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
  • Collaboration: Foster strong relationships with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Academic degree in nursing, Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive management experience in a hospital environment as a manager or full-time charge nurse/related position.
  • Licensure: Active and current registered nurse license in the state of Massachusetts.
  • Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification.

  • Must complete a background check and pre-employment health screening, including a drug screen.
