Responsibilities
Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' functional abilities, cognitive skills, and daily living needs.
Personalized Treatment Plans: Develop individualized treatment plans that address specific goals and challenges, focusing on maintaining independence and enhancing participation in daily activities.
Therapeutic Interventions: Implement various therapeutic interventions, including activities of daily living (ADL) retraining, adaptive equipment training, cognitive rehabilitation, and fall prevention strategies.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, nurses, social workers, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
Education and Training: Educate residents and families on enhancing independence, safety, and well-being.
Qualifications
Education: Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Licensure: Valid state license as an Occupational Therapist in Washington.
Experience: Experience in a skilled nursing or geriatric rehabilitation setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and staff.
Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice in geriatric rehabilitation.
