Responsibilities
Assist in Evaluations: Collaborate with the Physical Therapist (PT) to conduct comprehensive assessments of residents' physical abilities, functional limitations, and progress toward goals.
Implement Treatment Plans: Under the supervision of a licensed PT, implement individualized treatment plans to address specific needs and goals, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
Therapeutic Interventions: Deliver various interventions, such as exercises, gait training, and modalities, to promote functional improvement, pain reduction, and enhanced mobility.
Collaborate: Work effectively with the interdisciplinary team, including physical therapists, nurses, and physicians, to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
Document: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident progress and treatment interventions.
Qualifications
Education:
Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program.
Licensure:
Valid state license as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Maine.
Experience:
Experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric rehabilitation setting is preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with residents, families, and staff.
Strong understanding of physical therapy principles and techniques.
Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
