Virtus Healthcare Staffing is partnering with a regional medical center in Las Cruces, NM to find a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join their growing team.
About The RoleAs a Radiation Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing life-saving radiation therapy to patients with cancer and other conditions. You will work collaboratively with a team of physicians, nurses, and medical physicists to develop and administer individualized treatment plans, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of radiation.
Responsibilities
- Explain treatment plans to patients and answer their questions clearly and reassuringly.
- Operate linear accelerators and other radiation therapy equipment to deliver precise radiation doses.
- Position patients accurately using immobilization techniques to ensure proper treatment delivery.
- Monitor patients for side effects and report any concerns to the radiation oncologist.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and documentation.
- Participate in treatment planning and quality assurance procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, medical physicists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Adhere to all safety protocols for radiation therapy equipment.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy program.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy.
- Licensed by the state of New Mexico or eligible for licensure.
- Current CPR certification.
- 3-5 years of experience in radiation therapy preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the operation methods and safety standards for radiation therapy equipment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
