You will work alongside a team of experienced professionals in a fast-paced surgical setting, ensuring the smooth operation of the OR and providing exceptional care to patients.
Responsibilities
- Set up and maintain a sterile surgical environment
- Prepare the OR according to surgical procedures
- Stock and maintain surgical supplies and equipment
- Assist the surgical team during procedures
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and scrub nurse
- Ensure proper patient positioning and draping
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in safety briefings and adhere to infection control protocols
- Perform sterile processing tasks (may vary by unit)
- Some call coverage will be required.
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a surgical setting (preferred)
- Experience with OR procedures a plus
- Strong sterile technique and aseptic practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and work independently
- Minimal experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) a plus
- 13-week contract assignment
- 40 hours per week guaranteed (Monday-Friday)
- Some call coverage will be required.
