Position Overview: Trusted Staffe is seeking a compassionate and experienced Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner, a hospital in Manchester, CT. This mid-shift role offers an excellent opportunity for RNs with strong experience in behavioral health and mental health care, including first-time travelers.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care to patients with mental health diagnoses and co-morbidities such as addiction.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Monitor and document patient vitals, symptoms, and changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Manage wound care, CPAP, Foley catheters, and diabetic care as needed.
- Utilize de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when necessary.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and ongoing care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- BLS certification is required.
- CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification is preferred; training will be provided if not certified.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in behavioral health or mental health nursing.
- First-time travelers accepted with strong experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-stress environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Start Date: 7/22
- Shift: 5x8's, Mids, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM
- Guaranteed hours: contracted hours guaranteed

- Charting: Meditech
- Scrub Color: Provided

- Locals are accepted if over 60 miles from the facility.
- RTO (Requested Time Off) Restrictions: Should not be more than 1 week.

- Utilize CPI techniques for crisis intervention and de-escalation.
- Complete mandatory Health Stream courses assigned.
