Position Overview: Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our partner, a hospital in Manchester, CT, for a position in the Emergency Room. This night shift role offers an excellent opportunity for RNs with strong emergency care experience, including first-time travelers.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care to patients in the Emergency Room.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Monitor and record patient vitals, symptoms, and changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Perform diagnostic tests and interpret results.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-discharge care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Active, unrestricted RN license in the state of Connecticut.
- ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications are required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting.
- First-time travelers accepted with strong experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Start Date: 7/8
- Shift: Nights, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Ratios: 1:4-5
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirement
- Guaranteed hours: contracted hours guaranteed
- Type of Facility: Inner City Trauma II, Short-Term Acute Care
- Total Staffed Beds: 978
- Scrub Color: Royal blue
- Charting: Allscripts
- Parking Cost: Free parking across the street and garage parking are available once a badge is obtained.
- Clinicians will not float within the scope to meet facility needs.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Locals are accepted if over 60 miles from the facility.
- Pending license not accepted.
- RTO (Requested Time Off) Restrictions: Should not be more than 1 week.
