Job Description

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech) to join the team at our partner, a Level 1 Trauma Center in St. Louis, MO. This is a travel contract position offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the performance of neuro-interventional radiology procedures, including cerebral angiograms, coiling, stenting, embolizations, stroke thrombectomies, venous samplings, operating room angiograms, lumbar punctures, and other neurovascular related procedures.
• Operate Siemens Bi-plane equipment, positioning for neurovascular image acquisition, post-processing images, and circulating cases.
• Prepare patients for procedures, explaining the process and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Maintain sterile environment and assist with equipment setup and breakdown.
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and maintain accurate patient records.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT (R) certification required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in Interventional Radiology, with a focus on neuro-interventional procedures.
• Ability to work every other weekend.
• Ability to be on call: one weeknight call every 13 weeks and 3-4 weeknight calls during a 13-week assignment. Weekend call is Friday 4:00 PM through Monday 7:30 AM.
• Experience with Siemens Bi-plane equipment.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work with pediatric patients.

Job Details:

• Start date: ASAP
• Daily caseload: 6-8 procedures per technologist
• Three interventional radiology rooms
• No block scheduling available.
• Permanent address must be at least 75 miles from the facility.
• Pending state licenses accepted.
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks. Cancelled shifts must be the full length of the assigned shift.
