Job Description

Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking a qualified Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join the team at our partner children's specialty hospital in Chicago, IL. This is a travel contract position offering competitive compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Provide respiratory therapy care to critically ill infants in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator management.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust respiratory therapy modalities as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians and nurses to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory care and disease management.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• Current RRT certification.
• Minimum of two years of experience in respiratory therapy, with a focus on NICU care.
• Current BLS and PALS certifications.
• Active Illinois Respiratory Therapist license required at time of submission.
• Experience with Meditech electronic health record system.
• Previous experience in teaching and community hospitals, as well as long-term acute care (LTAC) facilities.

Job Details:

• Shift: 3x12 night shift
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
• No on-call requirement
• Block scheduling TBD based on unit needs
• No floating to other units
• Locals accepted at same rate as travelers
• RTO must be approved prior to contract start and cannot be added after contract begins
• Guaranteed hours as contracted
