IntroductionAt the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Missouri, our Home Health program offers skilled services in patients' private homes under the guidance of a private physician. Payment for services is accepted through Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Pay/Insurance. We are a not-for-profit organization committed to providing quality healthcare services.
Type Of Work InvolvedAs a part of our team, you will assess symptoms, monitor responses to treatment, educate patients and caregivers on providing care, address inquiries regarding medications, diet, disease processes, and activities. Your responsibilities will include administering IV and injectable medications, performing prescribed treatments, wound management, ostomy care, facilitating independence, and updating physicians on any changes in the patient's health.
Type Of EmploymentVNA nurses are compensated per visit, offered mileage reimbursement or provided with a company car. You will be expected to participate in monthly and weekly on-call rotations and make yourself available from 8 AM to 4:30 PM daily. Driving distances of 45 miles or more may be required.
TrainingUpon joining our team, you will undergo a 30-day training period that covers our policies and procedures. Additionally, computer training will be provided to familiarize you with the handheld devices utilized during patient visits.

Duties
- Assess symptoms and treatment responses
- Educate patients and caregivers
- Administer medications and treatments
- Provide wound management and ostomy care
- Support independence and communicate health changes to physicians
- Minimum age of 18 years
- Proficiency in reading, writing, basic mathematics, and following instructions
- At least one year of home health or nursing experience and a valid Missouri nursing license
- Reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check, registration with Family Care Reg.
- Not listed on Employee Disqualification List (EDL)
- Completion of a detailed application and provision of at least two credible business references
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
