Vistra is seeking three (3) motivated and skilled Intermediate Business Consultant to support a strategic communications contract with the U.S. Coast Guard. The successful candidate will have a strong background in business consulting and strategic communications, with a particular focus on government contracts. This role involves collaborating closely with senior consultants and the U.S. Coast Guard team to implement communication strategies that align with the organization’s goals. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of the U.S. Coast Guard's mission and will be adept at supporting project management and stakeholder engagement. This is a hybrid job working in the Alexandria, VA surrounding areas.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities: 

• Project Support: Assist in the development and implementation of strategic communications initiatives that support the U.S. Coast Guard’s mission and objectives. 
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and alignment with project goals. 
• Data Analysis: Conduct research and analyze data to provide insights that inform strategic communication decisions. 
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation to communicate findings, recommendations, and project status to both internal and external stakeholders. 
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the implementation of best practices in strategic communications. 
• Risk Management: Assist in identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project success. 
• Training and Development: Support the development and delivery of training programs related to strategic communications for U.S. Coast Guard personnel. 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred. 
• 3-5 years of experience in business consulting, with a focus on strategic communications, preferably within a government or military context. 
• Strong understanding of the U.S. Coast Guard’s mission, structure, and operational environment. 
• Proven ability to analyze data, develop insights, and support strategic decision-making. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences. 
• Experience working in a collaborative team environment, with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience working on government contracts, particularly with the U.S. Coast Guard or other military branches. 
• Knowledge of strategic communication principles and best practices. 
• PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus. 

Work Environment: 

This position may require occasional travel and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain any required security clearances.
