Key responsibilities
- Review of contract documentation upon receipt from client to ensure compatibility with the company’s tender and subsequent negotiations
- Assessment of contractual terms and conditions and negotiate amendments with the client where required by the Commercial Manager
- Producing commercial risk register for each contract. Monitor risk and assist in implementation of agreed mitigation measures
- Prepare and issue enquiries for major plant & equipment and sub-contract packages
- Review of quotations commercially and negotiation of price and terms with vendors
- Prepare and submit applications for payment and/or Invoices, obtain payment certificates and progress client payments in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Measure, submit and agree variations, loss & expense and/or compensation events in accordance with contractual provisions to facilitate prompt agreement of final accounts.
- Monitor on-site record keeping. Prepare and issue notices in accordance with contractual provisions.
- Prepare and submit monthly cost value reconciliations and cash/ spend profiles.
- Attending contract review meetings.
- Measure, certify and agree sub-contractors interim valuations and final accounts.
- Preparing and issuing contractual notices to sub-contractors.
- Assisting the Finance Department in securing payment of invoices and/or applications for payment
- Educated to a Degree level in Quantity Surveying or Building Services Engineering discipline
- Experience of NEC contracts
- Demonstrable experience in a quantity surveyor role within with evidence of commercial management success
- Ability to influence and negotiate with proven experience in resolving difficult or disputed accounts to finality
- Experience of Financial and Contract Management software packages (desirable)
- Flexible approach to managing workload with the ability to work to deadlines
- Has a passion and interest in emerging technologies within the Energy Market and supporting the drive to Net Zero
- Good negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Able to work effectively as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft software packages including, Excel, Word, Outlook and Powerpoint
- Full UK driving licence – as you will be required to travel to sites across the region
