Vitamix is seeking a Cost Accounting Intern who will gain experience and knowledge in inventory and COGS valuations, maintaining accurate costing and inventory/accounting transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Cost Accountant with:
- Providing accurate and complete inventory and COGS valuations
- Maintaining accurate costing including new product setup, monthly reconciliation of inventory, and month end close assistance
- Ensuring that all assigned inventory/accounting transactions are completed on a timely basis and accurately maintained to support strategic business decisions
- Direct Labor - Update and validate routings with time studies from the Manufacturing Engineers
- Direct Material – Improve the real time link with actual prices paid to suppliers to provide earlier indicators of positive/negative purchase price variance
- Indirect Material – Analyze annual purchases and what drives these purchases
- Depreciation – Develop a detailed and visible schedule of depreciation of assets
- Overhead – Develop a detailed view of the overhead rate and what it drives
