Job DescriptionIMMEDIATE job opportunity for a driven individual who has a proven track record of performance and desire to work for a well-established organization. We are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer for a great machine shop that specializes in the production of precision machined parts for the aerospace and medical industry located in Anaheim, CA.We are looking for a programmer that is very experienced programming 5 axis machines, Lathe machines with live tooling, and Tsugami machines. We need a programmer that can do both lathes and mills.(1st shift 5:00 am to 2:30 pm Monday thru Thursday and Friday 5:00 am to 9:00 am)(2nd shift 2:00 pm to 12:30 pm Monday thru Thursday) Job SummaryExpert CNC Programmer / Machinist must be proficient with 3, 4 and 5 axis programming using a popular CAD/CAM system such as MasterCam for Lathe (with and without live tooling Vertical and Horizontal Mills. Experience with Swiss-Turn programming using Tsugami CNC equipment.
Write, develop, and edit CNC programs and develop, design and program related tooling fixtures required. Program tryout and approval, promoting continuous improvement (Lean) activities, and providing technical support to CNC operators and machinists. This position is to support all CNC programs and work on day or weekend shifts if required. The candidate must be a self-starter, be able to communicate well and have excellent interpersonal skills. A thorough knowledge of CNC programming and machine shop practices is essential for success in this position. Ensure product quality by working closely with all functional groups to develop, support and maintain CNC programs, tooling, and related documentation for machinery used throughout the manufacturing facility. Positively affect On-Time Delivery, and Reduced Set-up and Cycle Times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Use Mastercam to develop CNC Programming using CAD data (i.e., solid models, step, .igs, etc.), 2-D drawings, and applicable customer and/or internal requirements.
Create / maintain CNC machining programs providing the appropriate level of floor support for program introduction, productivity optimization, and trouble shooting.
Define, design, order, review and implement all tooling associated with manufacture of parts on specified CNC machinery, working with Tool Design as required.
Create / maintain tooling libraries and databases including set up sheets, sketches, and associated documentation required to accurately account for the design configuration of CNC tooling.
Provide appropriate level of floor support by interfacing with operators and other functional groups to review processing issues due to the machining process. Provide solutions that address root cause.
Continuously improve manufacturing processes to ensure superior product quality, reduced cycle times, lead times, and minimize overall manufacturing costs.
Assist Manufacturing Engineers in the creation of the most efficient manufacturing routings / outlines for the manufacture of parts utilizing CNC machinery.
Support and provide assistance, as required, for various special projects.
Ability to create and edit G&M code programs on the machine if necessary.
Qualifications5 to 10 years of experience in Manufacturing environment.5 to 10 years of experience in programming role for Multi-Turret/Multi-Spindle Turning Lathes and 3, 4, and 5-axis Vertical and Horizontal Mills. Ability to Operate and perform set-up of complex Aerospace components on Multi-Turret/Multi-Spindle Lathes and 5-axis Mills.Ability to read, comprehend and follow complicated verbal, precision drawings, and written instructions.
Ability to perform arithmetic, geometric and algebraic calculations.
Strong oral and written communication skills required to effectively present information, write reports, and process work instructions, and provide support to manufacturing unit.
Experience in use of calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, height gage or any precision measuring instrument, required to check parts correctly.
Experience with Mastercam, current version.
Good knowledge of GD&T and how to order the manufacturing process to achieve drawing requirements.
Compensation: $83 - $93K. DOE Company is willing to negotiate depending on background and skill set.
