VNA Health Care is Hiring a Remote EPIC Support Analyst Advanced

The position is perfect for someone with a passion to teach technology, to work with end users on software & clinic workflow, provide on-site support and serve as the end user liaison for the team. Must be reliable, self-directed, and take initiative. The Site Specialist is responsible for: EMR system maintenance, overall success of the EMR support, training and knowledge transfer to Super Users and staff, and overall provider and staff satisfaction & fluency of the EMR.

The chosen candidate will be part of a group responsible for the training and support of all clinical and administrative personnel in various healthcare specialty groups and will create training documentation & curriculum. The candidate will perform Clinical training for new hires and ongoing user training during system changes/upgrades. The candidate will also participate in the interpretation & documentation of system changes, user requirements and quality assurance testing to ensure end user requirements are met with a focus of efficient clinic workflow. This position will interact with physicians, providers, site managers, medical directors, and other associated teams.

  • Work collaboratively to develop and continuously update training materials for various training needs (new user training, refresher training for end users, helpful hints, and frequent asked questions).
  • Conduct both group and individual training sessions with end users as needed.
  • Serve as a primary resource to the EMR super users in problem resolution.
  • Provide EMR support via phone and in person.
  • Assist with coordinating clinical/administrative requests for EMR system modification and act as a liaison between the end user and information technology, practice services, staff and providers to optimize tools and workflows in the EMR application.
  • Conduct periodic observations of end users in their environment to identify areas for improvement and suggestions for workflow redesign.
  • Identify, assess, and troubleshoot application and equipment issues as they occur, owning the problem and seeing it through to full resolution. Refer issues that require additional assistance to IT/Help Desk or OCHIN’s Help Desk, including technical and workflow information necessary to resolve the issue. Communicate resolution to the user when completed
  • Maintain member-managed system setup such as preference lists, SmartPhrases, and Provider master Files for the service area
  • Participates in the interpretation & documentation of system changes, user requirements and quality assurance testing to ensure end user requirements are met.
  • Reviews all system notifications and updates, and document potential changes to workflows.
  • Provides second tier support for all modules when an issue is escalated to the help desk level.
  • Ensure that EMR changes have been communicated and understood by super users and staff.
  • Collaborate with OCHIN and member oversight or advisory workgroups to optimize use of the system through implementation of new Epic PM and EMR features and upgrades.
  • Collaborate with OCHIN to test new features and upgrades prior to implementation.
  • Attend appropriate clinic department meetings as Epic expert and as OCHIN liaison
  • Familiarizes and complies with all VNA policies and procedures.
  • Meets standards of behavior expectations.
  • Follows established guidelines for use and/or disclosure of protected health information. Employees should report any breaches of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules to the Privacy Officer immediately. Failure to comply with HIPAA policies and procedures will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

  • High School Diploma or GED required. Bachelor's Degree in business, health care, education, or related field preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Ability multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, technical environment required.
  • Strong problem resolution skills required.
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and accept and adapt to change.
  • Ability to work effective both independently and collaboratively as a part of a team.
  • Strong PC/Software experience to include Microsoft Office.
  • EPIC EMR experience required.
  • 1-3 years of Electronic Health Record system experience within a health care setting required. FQHC experience preferred.
  • EPIC certification, super user experience or OCHIN EPIC experience preferred.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and to teach using different learning styles and methods (remotely, in-person, classroom style, one-on-one, etc.)
  • Knowledge of clinical workflow and an understanding of clinical terminology required.
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical and critical thinking skills (strong problem solving skills).
