Provide expertise to support department short- and long-term objectives and agency business plan. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients, advocating core values, culture direction and clinical business model. Assist the Vice President with employee relations, policies, job descriptions, training development and delivery, and other projects and tasks as needed to ensure the department has necessary processes in place to support the workforce and P&C deliverables. Research and propose ways to help improve the quality and efficiency of products and services delivered by the P&C team. Assist in educating associates on P&C procedures, systems, processes, and policies to ensure compliance as needed. Perform duties under some supervision by the manager, the VP P&C.

Responsibilities

  • Well organized, timeline driven, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, manage and move forward multiple projects and initiatives while working with appropriate level of autonomy. Maintain strict confidentiality of all P&C related information, at all times.
  • Stay informed of trends and best practices in the field of HR and share information with the P&C team to promote skills, product and service improvement as well as continuous learning for all.
  • Perform periodic audits to ensure compliance, including but not limited to I-9 audits, OIG, motor vehicle and other criteria as needed to maintain zero findings. Communicate results, especially deficiencies or non-compliance to VP P&C and respective manager. Recommend action to resolve non-compliance findings
  • Conduct and communicate practical and objective investigations, and/or solutions representing People & Culture during Employee Relations, striving to achieve business and department objectives and/or resolving performance issues. 
  • Demonstrate collaboration and teamwork with all P&C colleagues to deliver transparent department products and services.
  • Be willing to help in other areas of department as requested by manager or co-worker.
  • May serve as the P&C Lead on special projects as needed.
  • Participate in meetings, associate recognition events and committees as requested. Assist VP P&C with manager education, meetings and other duties as needed.
  • Use agency issued credit card as outlined in finance department agreement. Process web purchasing and purchase orders as needed
  • Comply with VNA policies including safety and emergency disaster plans to minimize risk for self, others and agency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Administration or related field and two the three years’ relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), or Society for Human Resources Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) is strongly preferred.
  • Well-versed in computer software systems - Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel and PowerPoint, experience working with HRIS systems, associate survey tools, newsletter formatting software
