VNSM, an established architectural sheet metal subcontractor in Paramount, CA, is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Controller to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity of our accounting operations and maintaining robust accounting practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounting Management:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, Work In Progress (WIP) reports, and inventory controls.
  • Manage corporate insurance and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Oversee payroll taxes and government reports.

• Department Leadership:

  • Lead the Accounting, Human Resources, and Administrative departments.
  • Collaborate closely with the CEO, Project Management, and Sales teams to enhance efficiency and cost savings.
  • Manage inter-departmental communication and project status reporting.

• Administrative Duties:

  • Conduct various audits, including general liability and workers' compensation.
  • Handle corporate insurance renewals and compliance with government regulations.
  • Protect company assets and ensure accurate inventory management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Advanced Timberline Experience:

  • Expertise in Timberline accounting software is mandatory.

• Accounting Expertise:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting functions and procedures - accounting degree or classes required.
  • Proficiency in Excel for report and spreadsheet preparation.
  • Experience in budgeting, and cost accounting.
  • Strong skills in accounts payable processes, including purchase orders and quotes.

• Construction Industry Experience:

  • Previous work in a subcontractor environment is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with construction billing systems such as AIA and Textura.
  • Understanding of retail operations and maintaining procedural controls.
