- Perform radiographic mammography procedures to produce high-quality diagnostic films for detecting breast tissue abnormalities
- Ensure proper patient identification, order verification, and patient preparation for exams
- Conduct radiologic mammography exams per department protocol, including advanced procedures such as stereotactic biopsies, clip placements, and drainages
- Demonstrate competency in patient positioning
- Provide information on breast self-examinations and answer patient questions, supplemented with written materials
- Operate mammographic equipment to ensure the production of high-quality diagnostic images
- Utilize equipment properly, maneuver the unit, and select techniques to produce diagnostic images
- Implement radiation protection measures to ensure patient and staff safety, adhering to ALARA program requirements
- Stay current on new procedures and equipment to maintain high skill levels
- Maintain records required by JCAHO and the Utah State Bureau of Radiation Control
- Complete all required documentation thoroughly and accurately, including time stamps and image storage
- ARRT registration
- Current Rad Tech license in the state of practice
- Compliance with mammography-specific ACR & FDA/MQSA requirements
- ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers
- Associate’s Degree
- Experience in Imaging or Mammography
