Volunteers of America-Greater New York (VOA-Greater New York) is an anti-poverty organization working to end homelessness in the New York area by 2050.

We operate over 60 programs across New York City, Northern New Jersey and Westchester County including emergency, transitional and permanent housing.

Our services extend to families experiencing homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, people living with HIV / AIDS, veterans, youth aging out of foster care, adults with behavioral health or substance use needs , and others in need, including a special education preschool program.

We are in search of new talent in the following position...

Position : Learning and Performance Coordinator (Hybrid Remote)

The Learning and Performance Coordinator is responsible for developing learning and strategies for employee development.

The duties include collaborating with Program staff and Human Resources team to determine training needs, implement training programs, and review data from previous training programs to determine their effectiveness in helping employees learn and develop professional skills and knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree, plus two years of related experience, or satisfactory combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates should also have familiarity with current training methods, excellent leadership and motivational skills.
  • Must have ability to plan, manage time and multitask effectively.
  • Advanced database, computer skills, record-keeping skills are needed.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Candidate should have excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Great collaboration and teamwork skills needed.

Learning and Performance Coordinator Principal Responsibilities :

  • Maintain learning management systems (LMS), including training enrollments and data entry, monitoring training gaps, and create / disseminate management reports.
  • Process and maintain accurate bookkeeping records for all training expenses. Assist with billing, allocations, reports for reimbursable training costs, and assist with monitoring our tuition reimbursement program.
  • Create training schedules, track and create reports on outcomes of all training and maintain training records for the agency.
  • Gather and evaluate information from employees and management on previous training to identify weaknesses and areas that need additional training.
  • Attend seminars and meetings to learn new training methods and techniques; and use that knowledge to prepare and coordinate future training sessions.
  • Recruit and train new trainers, delegate training tasks to the new trainers and evaluate their performance.
  • Promote agency training opportunities for employees and provide information on benefits to encourage participation.
  • Inform employees around scheduled training and track their progress.
  • Recommend training materials and methods, order and maintain in-house training equipment and facilities and manage the budget for training.
