Volunteers of America Oklahoma is Hiring a Nonprofit Development Coordinator Near Tulsa, OK

We are seeking a dedicated Development Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our organization's growth and fundraising efforts. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about nonprofit management and fundraising.

As the Development Coordinator with Volunteers of America Oklahoma, you will be joining our dedicated and talented team where you make a personal, and fulfilling, contribution to the lives of the people that we serve. In this role, you will handle all aspects of grant writing, review, submission, and implementation. You will also provide external communications and special event support. This role provides support to the Resource Development Department, and CEO.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage the grant process
  • Maintain the database for funder/donor information
  • Collect updated numbers both for the census summary and financial reports required for grants and annual report
  • Assist in the planning and logistics of large fundraising events to ensure a high level of donor experience and engagement
  • Draft external communications such as donor newsletters, press releases, event programs
  • Collaborate with the development team to create and implement fundraising strategies
  • Assist in strategic planning for donor cultivation and retention

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or related degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Paid internships, part-time, and volunteer experience may be considered as years of experience
  • 2 years of non-profit experience required with a focus on grants, government grants, communications, or other roles with an emphasis on writing
  • Must possess strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, good judgment, and solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with others
  • Strong Microsoft Office, planning, and time management skills
  • Experience with local foundation and government grants
  • Advanced user of all MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Advanced experience with Blackbaud donor products, Raiser’s Edge RENXT, or similar database
  • 18 years of age or older.
