Job Description

The Maintenance Technician at Vanseal Corporation plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of electrical, mechanical, and control systems within the manufacturing facility. The primary responsibilities include troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems, mechanical systems, performing PLC maintenance, and managing hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The role encompasses a variety of tasks that do not conflict with other job classifications performing similar functions. This is a second shift opening that requires training on the first shift. Second shift pays an additional $1.50, and the candidate will be the sole maintenance technician on second shift.

Electrical System Troubleshooting and Repair:

• Identify and address issues in electrical systems.
• Execute repairs to ensure the continuous functioning of electrical components.

Mechanical System Troubleshooting and Repair:

• Diagnose and rectify mechanical problems in manufacturing equipment.
• Conduct routine maintenance to prevent mechanical failures.

PLC Maintenance:

• Maintain and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
• Implement necessary updates and modifications to optimize performance.

Hydraulic and Pneumatic Maintenance:

• Monitor and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Conduct repairs and preventive maintenance to ensure efficiency.

Qualifications:

Strong Math Skills: Proficiency in fundamental statistics and trigonometry.

Mechanical Aptitude: Demonstrated ability to understand and work with mechanical systems.

Self-Discipline and Independence: Strong self-discipline and the ability to work independently.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for recording and reporting maintenance activities.

Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills for effective collaboration.

Lean Manufacturing: Ability to contribute proactively to the development of Lean Manufacturing process theories and practices.

Physical Demands:

Maximum Lift:

• Capable of lifting up to 45 pounds (Higher maximum in Low Volume Department).

Push/Pull Force:

• Ability to exert a push/pull force of up to 100 pounds, especially when maneuvering molds. 

This role requires a proactive and versatile individual who can contribute to the efficiency of the manufacturing processes.
