This is a Civil Engineering internship; course study and specific area assignment will be assigned as you progress. Direct supervisor assignments will be based on projects where we feel we can provide the best learning experiences during the summer 2024 in the Northwestern Indiana area. This position will work in our new Merrillville, IN office. Your direct report will be Timothy Hollandsworth, Project Manager/Office Manager.

A Typical Day May Include
- Develop transportation, water resource, and bridge and structures construction documents and specifications under the supervision of a Professional Engineer
- Participate and assist the team with planning, design and structural inspection of various civil engineering projects
- Contribute to the preparation of planning documents, engineering plans, details, reports, specifications and cost estimates
- Assist in coordinating with clients, regulators and permitting agencies
- Help prepare contract documents for bidding
- Compete field assignments like data collection and departmental observation

- Currently seeking Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil Engineering or a related Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
- Ability to demonstrate dependability and a strong desire to succeed
- Technical knowledge / computer skills:
- Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook
- Adobe
- AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation (preferred)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Highly motivated team player, excited to contribute meaningfully to a team
