VSSI Staffing Services is Hiring a Machine Operator Near Carrollton, TX

Job Details:
  • Hours: 6 am to 6 pm 
  • Pay: $18 
  • Monday to Friday Saturday availability
SUMMARY: 
  • This position is primarily responsible for operating machines, such as those to blend ingredients into compounds for processing by performing the following duties personally or though subordinates.
  • Must be able to troubleshoot, maintain, fabricate, support, and assist maintenance employees with repairs to production floor equipment. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 
  • Loads ingredients into mixing machine hopper from conveyor, scales, or handtrucks, or directs other workers in performing this task. 
  • Starts machine and adjusts valves to admit steam or cooling fluids to steam jacket or devices in mixing chamber to aid in blending and densifying mixture. 
  • Operates machine and monitors assembly machine controls 
  • Ensure assembly machines are functioning properly and make required adjustments if the equipment malfunctions. 
  • Inspect products for measurement and quality and separate defective products. 
  • Maintain a safe and clean production area. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • 2-3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; 3 years’ experience preferred 
LANGUAGE SKILLS: 
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences. 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
  • Ability to perform these operations using of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. 
REASONING ABILITY: 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. 
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. 
WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to vibration.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions (non-weather); working near moving mechanical parts; extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather), and moderate to loud noise levels.
