Position: Director of Case Management - RN Location: Henderson, NC Salary: As per Exp. As a Director of Case Management, you will play a critical role in ensuring our healthcare services are aligned with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical standards. Responsibilities
Departmental Goals and Standards: Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements of the organization.
Operations Management: Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Staffing Management: Plan and monitor staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
Budget Management: Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets, ensuring compliance with allocated funding. Coordinate and direct internal/external audits.
Professional Growth: Create and foster an environment that encourages professional growth and integrates evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership for Patient Care Coordinators and Social Workers on issues regarding quality, resource management, utilization review, and discharge planning.
Service Delivery Review: Review the delivery of services and care provided in the acute care setting for medical necessity, appropriateness, and conformance to professional standards.
Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Collaborate with the Nursing Director regarding interdisciplinary patient care rounds.
Safety Programs: Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs.
Performance Improvement: Participate in Performance Improvement, collect data, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Payment Denials: Communicate responses to potential or actual payment denials and collaborate with individual physicians to resolve utilization review concerns.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
Master's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
North Carolina RN license required.
Required Skills:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Work Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred or an equivalent combination of work experience and education.
Previous supervisory experience preferred.
