Vermont State University is seeking fun-loving, energetic counselors for one or both of two one-week STEM summer camps, the National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI). NSTI is an exciting, interactive program for students entering 7th- 12th grades.

The camp for rising high school students is a residential camp at VTSU’s Randolph Center campus, from July 19th-July 26th. This year’s middle-school summer adventure is a day camp on August 4th – August 9th, based out of the VTSU’s Williston campus. Both camps host up to 24 campers. We also have a short mini-camp for campers returning from 2023, July 16th – July 18th.

For the high school camp and the returning camp at the Randolph campus, counselors will work alternate shifts, with two of four counselors on at all times, including some overnights. Dorm rooms provided. A college-trained Resident Assistant will also be present on each floor for the overnights. Hours can be flexible throughout the week. The MS camp is 8-4:30 pm, with some limited flexibility. Dorm room potentially available.

The curriculum is developed and scheduled, transportation and field sites are arranged! Various engineers/scientists/specialists are ready to involve campers in small group sessions. We need counselors to help keep the campers engaged and moving from session to session. Counselors must pass a background check.

College-aged or older required, previous camp counselor preferred but will work with the right candidate.
