Vulcan Materials Company is Hiring a Lowboy Operator (Class A CDL) Near Brooksville, FL

Summary Description of Position

Position is responsible for servicing all mobile equipment. Maintains and reviews lubrication reports and service records and performs oil, lube and filter service on all assigned equipment as required. Inspects equipment conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc.) and monitors oil flow and temperature observing gauges to measure performance. Reports equipment conditions to appropriate personnel as required. Assist plant and/or shop personnel with repair and maintenance. Under close supervision, performs assigned minor repair and maintenance tasks. Operates mobile equipment for maintenance purposes. Performs mechanic helper and shop attendant duties as required. Under close supervision, lays out repair jobs as directed. Welds material in flat position selecting rod type and welder setting as instructed. Cuts materials using acetylene/oxygen cutting torch as directed. Travel to other facilities maybe required. Essential Functions

* Performs duties safely, responsibly and proficiently.

* Maintains good housekeeping practices in plant, tool and parts house and shop areas.

* Follows VMC lube manual and guidelines and plant equipment service manuals.

* Performs a variety of duties as directed in addition to those described herein.

* Reviews lubrication reports and service records and under close supervision performs oil lube and filter service on all assigned equipment as directed.

* May be subject to wearing a respirator.

* Will work outdoors and exposed to varying and/or extreme weather conditions (i.e., heat, wet, cold, etc)

* May work in high and/or precarious places or cramped work space that requires getting into awkward positions.

* Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as, bend and lift 45 pounds.

* Must be able to work required overtime and flexible work schedule.

* Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language.

Other Requirements

* Must have basic computer skills.

* Frequently works near moving, mechanical parts, and vehicular traffic.

Education, Experience, Skills Required

Education:

* High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience.

Experience:

* Entry level to intermediate position in maintenance area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

* Must have sufficient level of education to understand oral and written instructions of a technical nature relating to products and vehicles.
