With a vision to be a leading commercial viral vector contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO), VVMF will design, develop, manufacture and deliver advanced therapeutic solutions to companies, customers and patients across the globe.

VVMF is a “for-profit”, registered independent commercial entity, started with initial funding from NSW Government.

The Position

Reporting to the CEO, this is a unique and exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of modern medicine and play a critical role in the creation of a true first for Australia.

As the Director of People & Culture (DPC) of this newly created organisation you will play a critical and instrumental role in its creation and long-term success on both the local and global stage.

Fundamentally, you will be responsible for the establishment and creation of the corporate culture, EVP and all people, WH&S and ESG related matters at VVMF. As such, the role will be incredibly varied: one moment highly strategic, partnering the CEO and ELT on critical, strategic objectives, and on another highly operational, driving general recruitment and talent acquisition.

The position will be responsible for:

• Multiple functions including Industrial Relations; Environment, Social & Governance; Remuneration & Benefits; Talent Management, Acquisition & Succession Planning; Organisation Design; Health, Safety & Wellbeing and Employee Relations.
• The transfer and onboarding of staff from NSW Health to VVMF.
• Creating a high-performance culture and driving workforce productivity.
• Designing and implementing all Human Resources Policies & Procedures, Standards and Systems.
• External stakeholder engagement and providing council and guidance to the CEO and ELT.

You – The Director of People & Culture

You will:

• Be an authentic, aspirational and engaging Human Resources leader, with experience of working within a highly regulated environment stringent on quality control, risk and work health safety, inc. biopharmaceuticals, dietary / health supplements, food manufacturing, FMCG, medical devices and / or utilities.
• Be more of a generalist than specialist Human Resources leader who will thrive on being agile, versatile and very comfortable “working within the grey”: able to utilise skills and experience gained from within established orgnisation’s to a new start-up venture.
• Have exceptional stakeholder management skills with deep experience of Industrial Relations and Union engagement.
