Overview

The Designer works to provide creative and technical support to the sales/project team by participating in the meeting with clients and preparation offloor plans ranging from conceptual drawings to very accurate, detailed computer generated design and furniture layout specifications for sales presentations and quotations and installation activities of office furniture and related equipment in client facilities.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Meet with company sales representative and clients to gather project requirements, establish project time line, and develop project budget
• Develop creative design concepts and space plans that fulfill client requirements and conform to applicable building codes and ADA requirements
• Generate furniture plans with intelligent graphics on AutoCAD and/or including 3D’s and elevations as required
• Generate accurate furniture specifications using 2020 Cap Technologies 
• Develop color schemes with material and finish selections within schedule and budget requirements
• Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of contract office furniture lines
• Good working knowledge of systems furniture and space planning.
• Prepare installation plans as requested
• Select architectural finishes and prepare finish plans
• Participate in and prepare furniture inventories as needed
• All other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with current AutoCAD and CAPSTUDIO/2020 TECHNOLOGIES working knowledge of PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Photoshop
• Ability to interpret communicated customer needs and project requirements into competent design solutions
• Strong oral, presentation, written, listening, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work well with people, action-oriented, and not intimidated by deadlines, vendors or customers
• Strong organizational and scheduling skills
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills

Qualifications

Education Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in design
• NCIDQ Certification preferred, but not required
