Join Our Team as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic

The Schultz Group of Companies is looking for an experienced heavy equipment mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance and Repairs: Perform quality maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs on a range of heavy construction equipment, including dozers, excavators, skid steers, and wheel loaders.
• Electrical and Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot and repair electrical and hydraulic systems, engines, powertrains, and other machine components.
• Technology Systems: Diagnose and repair technology systems using computer diagnostic tools.
• Welding and Cutting: Utilize basic torch and welder skills for cutting, brazing, and welding during disassembly or assembly processes.
• Data Entry: Complete electronic service reports, time entry, warranty tickets, and inspections.
• Safety: Wear all Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), maintain a clean work area, and report safety issues and equipment damage.
• Other Duties: Perform other tasks as needed between assignments.

Requirements:

• Experience: Proven experience in maintaining and repairing heavy construction equipment.
• Licenses: CDL-B with an active DOT medical card.
• Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Attitude: Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.

Location:

Your primary work location will be in our Ballston Spa shop. There may be times when travel will be required to work on a piece of equipment on one of our job sites located within a 1.5 to 2.5-hour radius of Albany, NY.
