Engineer Job Responsibilities
- Researches, analyzes, design, and administers MEP projects for clients, applying knowledge of engineering design, detailing, construction procedures, mechanical codes, materials, and systems.
- Produces conceptual plans, analytical, and construction documents.
- Plans and programs layout of project(s); coordinates and integrates engineering elements into unified design for client review and approval.
- Utilizes computer-assisted design software and equipment to prepare project designs and plans.
- Produces construction documents in AutoCAD.
- Working with the Project Manager, may direct, supervise, and check activities of workers engaged in preparing drawings and specification documents for the Conceptual Design Phase, Schematic Design Phase, and/or the Detailed Design Phase of a project.
- Interfaces with Director of Architecture and project managers.
- Coordinate production with up to 4 reporting-to team members
- Research and coordination of materials and products for project specifications.
- PE license
- Ability to provide elegant and effect design solutions
- A positive, creative, and professional approach to project deliverables.
- General knowledge of Tenant Finish Design Packages: interior materials and finishes, floor plans, furniture plans, finish plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, interior details, millwork details, ceiling details etc.
- Proficient in different MEP system types and detailing
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to details
- Ability to work under indirect supervision
- Effective interpersonal skill and collaborative management style to include teamwork and team building ability
- Comfortable with ambiguity and time spent outside of comfort zone acquiring new skills
- Technically creative and open- minded
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering from an accredited institution
- Licensure in the state of Ohio and ability to obtain additional state licensure
- 5 years of engineering experience preferably within the commercial, hospitality, health clubs, office, retail, animal care, and restaurant industry
- Understanding and knowledge of building codes, mechanical systems, plumbing systems, electrical systems, and site requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCad, block loads, and Microsoft Office is required.
