The Software Engineering Manager (SEM) will lead the software engineering team to achieve customer satisfaction through innovative solutions with quality and on-time delivery of engineering assignments. The SEM will also coordinate with other engineering disciplines at client while staying abreast of industry trends to ensure solutions remain innovative and competitive. Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide leadership to software engineering department and communicate with the team
• Function as a player/coach in the successful completion of projects which will include critical tasks such as requirements documents, design documents, coding, testing, and customer interaction
• Provide Software Architecture Leadership to the entire Engineering Department
• Coordinate R&D with Engineering Vice President to ensure client remains competitive
• Plan and direct engineering software activities, assign projects, establish software engineering priorities and ensure on-time delivery
• Implement engineering performance measurements and achieve planned improvement goals for quality, timeliness and variation in the engineering cost
• Ensure compliance to ISO 9001 requirements
• Coordinate activities with other departments for best engineering performance and utilization of resources
• Review project quotes including requirements and cost projections
• Stay abreast of current industry and competitive trends in technology
• Facilitate new product or service development for future growth
• Participate in operations meetings and report performance to senior management
• Facilitate the growth and development of the team through training and mentoring

Qualifications and Skills

• BS or equivalent in Engineering
• At least 7 years software experience with 4 years at a software lead position
• Project management experience
• Experience with computers, software, programming and product design
• Ability to travel (domestic and internationally) and obtain a passport
• This position requires the employee to work in a restricted facility that requires US citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card)
• Excellent problem solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with Visual Studio/C#/.NET
• Experience managing entire software life cycle
