SummaryDesigns, researches, analyzes, and develops products and systems for wireless products. Successful candidate must be a flexible team player, willing to engage diverse technical challenges with creative solutions. The candidate will work in conjunction with senior engineers offering engineering assistance to ensure timely project completion.
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and define system requirements, ensuring alignment with product requirements.
Participates in the development of system designs, installation test plans, strategies, and testing.
Design and analyze systems and sub-systems to improve performance, add features, solve customer problems, and/or to reduce size and/or cost.
Work directly with internal team members, customers, and partners from initial project exploration through writing requirements, building the system, and final integration.
Provide engineering support building and troubleshooting IWT products and prototypes.
Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Active learning of underground mining processes and techniques to enable communication with customers.
Perform RF measurement and RF testing inside the facility.
Research, develop, design and test electrical components, equipment, systems and networks. Design electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, domestic, and international purposes.
Travel to support our business including supporting operations both above and below ground, and other operational and test sites associated with IWT business. The candidate should expect to travel as much as 20% of the time.
Must be a US citizen.
Perform other duties as assigned. Support proposal activities.
Education And/or ExperienceTechnical bachelor's degree (EE) from a four-year college or university, and 5 or more years related experience preferred.
Experience with RF/Data Communications or Field Telecommunications is required. Experience with wireless site deployments and technical components is preferred.
Fundamental knowledge of RF system configurations and testing. (RF theory/model/propagation, Antennas, Link Budgets, RF measurement equipment, techniques, and simulation)
Ability to perform technical planning as well as hands on testing of RF/digital systems.
Experience with CAD software for generating RF equipment layout and coverage.
Ability to conduct technical training and product briefing with customers, vendors, and company representatives.
Knowledge of databases and network concepts is preferred. (My SQL, TCP/IP, Microsoft XP/7)
Computer SkillsOperate personal computer in an office environment. Ability to learn the use of simulation tools required for design work.
Reasoning AbilityCandidate must possess the ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Innovative ThinkingIndividuals must display original thinking and creativity, meeting challenges with resourcefulness in a timely manner.
