Wabasso Rehabilitation is Hiring a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) Near Wabasso, MN

Position Summary:
At Wabasso Rehabilitation and Wellness Center, the Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) provides direct service to daytime outpatient programs for substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. The LADC manages a full individual caseload by orienting clients to treatment and developing individual intervention, treatment, and recovery plans collaboratively. The LADC facilitates group sessions and conduct 1:1 session and charting appropriately. The LADC provides Life Skills curriculum, organization, and oversight. The LADC may provide coaching to interns and facilitate development of clinical competency and ethical practice. Other job responsibilities may include performing chemical dependency evaluations for clients and making the appropriate referrals and recommendations. Come to work in a fun environment!
Essential Responsibilities
  • Complete voluntary as well as court-ordered comprehensive assessments using an appropriate assessment tool as well as a person-centered approach to determine individuals' need for substance use disorder services. Such assessments must include sufficient information to complete the assessment summary and individual treatment plan according to the state statute.
  • Provide treatment coordination services.
  • Complete pre-petition screening and case management for judicial commitment.
  • Establishes eligibility for and approves payment for chemical dependency treatment services.
  • Participates in necessary training/education to maintain all license and certification requirements.
  • Participate in committees with area providers to promote awareness of the agency's chemical dependency services and to ensure coordination of services.
  • Initiate and maintain ongoing communication with resident referral, probation, social service agencies, etc.
  • Reliable, predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Complies with all rules and policies to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Other duties, as assigned or apparent.
  • Enter progress notes in each resident's file weekly or after each treatment service. The progress notes must reference the individual treatment plan.
Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) Requirements
  • Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) credential in good standing.
  • Masters Degree in Social/Behavioral Sciences with 1 year of prior Substance Abuse Experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Counseling experience with patients with addiction in a group setting strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Participates in trainings required. Must secure CEUs annually to maintain licensure and provides copies of CEUs.
