Summary

The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the preparation of the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, year-end closing audits, warranty claims, and all aspects EZ pass for the logistics arm of the company. Directs a staff of 9 accountants, engaged in the preparation of journal entries, AP payments, bank reconciliations, allocation of trucking costs, management of fuel information and registration/titling of all equipment.

Essential Functions

• Reviews and approves all journal entries and accounts payable payments.
• Reviews accuracy of the Transportation Division General Ledger.
• Effectively supervises a staff of 9 associates.
• Coordinates and assists in the completion of year end physical inventories.
• Coordinates and assists with warranty claim preparation and receivable.
• Coordinates and assists the Treasury Department with establishing Loans for the transportation department fixed asset purchases.
• Coordinates and assists with all aspects of the EZ pass program.
• Review of Weekly costs and billings for transportation
• Oversees the purchases of and tax payments and returns for diesel fuel.
• Oversees the registration/titling of existing fleet and new purchases.
• Assists with any projects related to the department.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required (Accounting preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of accounting/analysis experience required
• Ability to lead, motivate and guide a team of associates
• Knowledge of segment of focus
• Proven organization and multitasking skills
• Proven project management skills
• Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills
• Effective presentation skills
• Competency with computer operating systems and Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands

• Availability to work a varied, flexible schedule to meet business demands
• Ability to monitor computer screens for long periods of time
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule as established by the division (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
