POSITION: Special Education Teacher (long-term sub)

LOCATION: Galvin Middle School

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current MA Special Education Mild/Moderate PreK-8 license
• Expereince teaching students with language-based learning disabilities strongly preferred
• Master’s degree in Elementary Education or Special Education preferred

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement high-quality Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) 
• Maintain accurate and current documentation; create lesson plans aligned with the curriculum Frameworks to ensure skill building
• Create data management techniques to collect and analyze data for the purpose of tracking academic progress
• Complete informal and formal diagnostic assessments and make recommendations for IEP programming and scheduling based on results
• Provide research-based, direct instruction in small intervention groups and/or inclusion support with a classroom environment
• Participate in and at times, lead special education meetings with the purpose of developing IEPs specific to the needs of students
• Coordinate schedule with service providers to ensure compliance with service delivery grids across settings
• Maintain consistent communication with parents 
• Perform assessments for special education students to determine eligibility
• Ensure compliance with all aspects of student IEPs
• Perform all such duties as requested by the principal or Director of Special Education

SALARY: Commensurate with Wakefield Public Schools’ Unit A salary schedule
