Job Summary
Along with the Investor Relations team, the Investor Relations Sr. Manager has an active role in representing the company to the investment community. Investor Relations has responsibility for shaping, articulating, and managing the investment thesis for WBA, and the company’s strategic relationships with key stakeholders including institutional investors and Wall Street research analysts. IR also has the internal objective of providing investor feedback to our executive team, including as a source of competitive intelligence. IR’s mission is to reduce volatility in the external WBA story, the share price, and the shareholder base, to drive long-term value for the company’s stakeholders.The Sr. Manager is responsible for supporting and implementing across all elements of the IR strategy and operations, and will actively participate in earnings preparation, and investor conferences and meetings. The role includes communicating strategic and financial performance with external stakeholders; presenting investor insights, competitive intelligence, and analysis to our executive team and internal network; and preparing informational and messaging materials for senior management. The Sr. Manager also helps optimize department productivity, and provides mentorship for rotational team members.Job Responsibilities
  • Works closely with the rest of the IR team, senior management, and business partners across the organization, to provide clear communication demonstrating consistent execution against investor expectations.
  • Co-creates value-driver based investment messages.
  • Co-authors quarterly results press release and management conference call commentary, with coordination across functions and geographies to prepare key messages and background materials.
  • Participates in investor conferences and roadshows to discuss industry dynamics, company strategy, and financial modeling.
  • Serves as a key point of contact for current and targeted investors and analysts, building and maintaining a productive dialogue to promote a better understanding of WBA’s value proposition.
  • Accelerates the feedback loop, conveying external insights, competitive intelligence, and investor/analyst messages to relevant internal parties including senior management.
  • Advances initiatives to build WBA’s positioning with ESG-focused investors.
  • Manages vendor relationships and optimizing IR productivity, with benchmarking and networking opportunities through industry associations including the CFA Society and the National Investor Relations Institute (NIRI).
  • Provide mentorship to rotational team members, with direct oversight.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 4 years of experience in Investor Relations or Finance OR High School/GED and at least 7 years of experience in Investor Relations or Finance
  • Experience with financial modeling and accounting, with prior role(s) in finance functions.
  • Demonstrated strong analytic, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
  • Strong communication skills including experience with business presentations and writing.
  • Experience and prior success in collaborative, cross-functional roles.
  • At least 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross-functional team leadership.
  • Willing to travel up to 20% of the time for business purposes (domestically and/or internationally).
