Your Role at Walker

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accountant to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role is crucial in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and providing valuable insights to support strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Assist with weekly, monthly, yearly accounting processes (accounts payable, expense reports processing)
• Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for discrepancies.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, monitoring performance against targets.
• Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather and analyze financial data.
• Assist with the identification, design, and implementation of AI automation tools.
• Participate on tasks and research with the current Strategic Plan implementation.
• Work with the Director of Corporate Accounting and review, design and implementation of improved processes and automation.

Qualifications And Competencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2-6 years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Experience and Proficiency with accounting software (Deltek is a plus)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. (Advanced skills with Excel and Word).
• Experience in Power BI (or other financial dashboard software) is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Environment

• This role typically operates in an office environment, with occasional travel required for meetings or training sessions.
• Hybrid (2-3 day per week in office) schedule is available after initial training and onboarding.

Salary Range: Base salary ranges from $ $65,000-$85,000 annually (Depending on experience) Bonus.
