Walker Consultants, a fast growing, financially sound organization is seeking a registered (PE) Mechanical Engineer for its Kalamazoo MI, Houston TX, or Chicago IL office locations.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Walker you will design HVAC, Fire Protection and Plumbing systems for some of the largest structures in the world, including resort, casino and airport parking structures. You will work with the leading HVAC manufactures on the latest trends in HVAC systems.

Responsibilities include:

-Provide HVAC, plumbing, fire sprinkler and standpipe designs;

-Participate in project meetings, create budgets and estimate construction costs;

-Evaluate existing, HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems and provide recommendations;

-Work with clients, project managers and architects to evaluate thermal envelope requirements;

-Design systems to the latest energy and building codes;

-Attend client meetings as needed.

Successful candidates for this opportunity will have a solid knowledge of Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering:

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering required;

Registered Professional Engineer in the United States;

Mechanical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineering experience;

-Previous experience with parking structure design, and LEED Accreditation a plus;

-Strong computer, writing, communication, and team skills are necessary.
