Job Title: Virtual Designer (BIM/REVIT Expert)
We are currently seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized Virtual Designer with expertise in REVIT. This role involves producing electrical shop drawings using your thorough knowledge of computer-aided drafting (CAD/BIM/REVIT) systems, standards, practices, and techniques. We're looking for a team player who has excellent communication skills and can manage multiple projects concurrently.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Build 3D models using superintendent’s layouts in AutoCAD MEP/Revit and NavisWorks.
- Perform BIM coordination, including clash detection and resolution using NavisWorks Manage.
- Upload our models and adhere to the General Contractor-led BIM coordination process until model sign-off.
- Mentor and train Detailers to produce detailed shop drawings.
- Maintain relationships with our operations team, the General Contractor, and MEP Trade team members.
- Assist in developing and maintaining WEI’s AutoCAD/Revit templates, details, and graphic standards.
- Produce a bill of materials for procurement and labor tracking.
Essential Requirements:
- High School diploma/GED.
- CAD Associates degree or relevant work experience.
- 2-5 years of experience performing computer-aided drafting in the commercial construction industry.
- Proficiency with Autodesk production software (AutoCAD MEP) and REVIT.
- Ability to use NavisWorks to view and extract information from the BIM model.
- Ability to read and comprehend construction blueprints and project specifications.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Willingness to learn and follow directions from the Senior Virtual Design team.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight project schedules.
- Self-starter, capable of working well individually and as part of a team.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- Legally authorized for employment in the United States.
Preferred:
- Electrical construction experience.
- Knowledge and application of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Electrical Field Experience and/or Electrical Theory degree.
- Experience with Bluebeam.
Work Environment:
- This job primarily operates in an office environment, but job site visits may be necessary at times. You will interact with employees, subcontractors, and trades.
