Java Developer II | Remote | Contract

Walker Healthforce is seeking a Java Developer II for a healthcare client located remotely. This is a contract opportunity.

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to design, develop, and modify complex information systems.
• Optimize application systems and procedures to meet functional requirements, including capacity and response time.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document programs and scripts.
• Serve as project lead, business systems analyst, or technical lead for small to medium efforts.
• Enhance current systems to meet evolving business needs.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Develop and implement system test plans and standard procedures.
• Maintain technical skills for software languages, databases, platforms, and operating systems.
• Prepare and maintain application design documents.
• Respond to system failures, reducing downtime and preventing recurrence.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to less-experienced team members.
• Actively participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to team communication and alignment.
• Create and maintain accurate Visio diagrams for system architectures and data flows.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 5 - 7 years' experience in systems analysis and programming with Java
• J2EE, JSP, JSF, Facelet, JSTL, Tiles and JavaScript. EJB, JPA and JMS Web Service (JAX-WS, JAXB, XSD, WS-security, MTOM)
• Knowledge of information technology concepts, application development methodology, terminology and standards
• Websphere knowledge or experience

PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Experience in the health insurance industry
• Cloud experience
