Walker V Painting is Hiring a Lead Painter in Training Near Bozeman, MT

Are you a skilled painter with 2 years experience and looking to help grow a dynamic team? Do you do everything with excellence and nitpick about the details? We could sure use your help!

You're might be here because you're not stoked with how things are going at your current job. Sometimes, even if you have a great boss, opportunity for growth and advancement isn't always readily available. At the very worst, a lot of companies in Bozeman are trading quality for quantity and doing less than excellent work.

Picture this: a role where your excellence isn't limited by the bottom line, where you can work hard on making the finished product look great, and do all this while working with an high integrity, clean cut team. Your skillset becomes the cornerstone on which our aspirations for excellence are built.

As a Lead Painter in Training, you'd be responsible for learning and executing all painting operations including how to organize the team in the morning meeting and throughout the day, keeping them motivated to work hard without demoralizing them, and making sure that product is going on the walls at an appropriate rate. While fun isn't excluded from the picture, we still get our nose to the grindstone in order to make our clients happy and take home a good paycheck.

Responsibilities:
- Act as second in charge in completing painting projects
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, and sanding as necessary
- Apply paint, stain, varnish, or other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or spray guns
- Repair and patch damaged areas of walls or surfaces prior to painting
- Maintain a clean and organized work area

Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional painter
- Proficient in various painting techniques
- Experience reading blueprints and following specifications for painting projects
- Familiarity with drywall finishing techniques
- Ability to maintain high-quality standards while working efficiently to meet project deadlines

Note: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The employee may perform other related duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.

PAY TRANSPARENCY
We've had a lot of painters come through claiming to know it all when it comes to painting. Most recently, we had a guy with '10 years experience' hop on and leave us with a lot to be desired. By the end of his employment, our 2 year guy was teaching him proper technique, and I (boss man) ended up getting callbacks for all his projects.
That said, all painters will go through a 2 month probationary period. You'll start at a contracted 25/hr and be under constant evaluation during this time. If you prove you have what it takes, you'll get a bonus that reflects the pay you're worth.

If you are an experienced Painter looking for a challenging opportunity with room for growth, we would love to hear from you. Please apply with your updated resume and portfolio showcasing your previous work.

Note: Local candidates will be prioritized.
