Fund Controller - Private Credit

NYC – Hybrid - 3 days in office (Tue, Wed, Thu)

COMPANY:

Global private investment firm specializing in providing debt capital to small and mid-sized businesses across various industries in the U.S. focused on supporting management teams to grow their companies and build lasting value.

OPPORTUNITY:

This role reports to the CFO and involves overseeing the financial operations and reporting of private credit funds. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fund accounting and financial management within the private credit sector.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all aspects of fund accounting and financial reporting for the private credit funds
  • Oversee the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and tax filings
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, fund expenses, and capital calls
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls and financial processes
  • Provide financial analysis and reporting to senior management and investors
  • Collaborate with the investment team to support deal structuring and financial modeling
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting fund operations

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 8 years of experience in fund accounting or financial management within the private credit investment industry
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards
  • Experience with fund administration, financial reporting, and investor relations
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail
